Vampires: Los Muertos centers on vampire hunter-for-hire Derek Bliss. When a new client hires him to hunt down a particularly powerful vampire queen in Mexico,soon he gathers a hunting crew and sets off across Mexico for some vampire hunting action.
Now, i'm a great fan of everything that has to do with horror. So of course I was looking forward to seeing this one. It's a shame to say that this isn't really worth seeing. Well, ok.. It might be worth seeing, I'll give it that under doubt, but the movie is inflicted with bad acting. And maybe it's just me, but when I've first noticed that the actors are'nt doing a grand job in a movie, it's kinda spoiled for me. Jon Bon Jovi mightwell write some songs again pretty damn fast.. Cause that s*** wouldn't even impress his own mother. Looked to me like he was more interested in pulling his stomach in than doing good acting. The dialouge in the movie is also kinda sad, you never get to know the characters at all… Well, I've guess I've said enough. Still might be people out there who really really wants to see it so I'm not gonna spoil anything for you. Won't tell the plot or anything since it almost wasn't there.<br/><br/>5 out of 10 for ok effects and makeup from ToX
I just gotta say, this movie was okay. Most of the time I enjoy some of Tommy Lee Wallace's work (Stephen King's IT, Fright Night Part II, Halloween III, etc.) But in this, I thought he could've done better. It just didn't feel like this film had the same atmospherethe first one. Maybe Carpenter's absence in direction probably had something to do with it. I'd say "watch it" but it's not really worth the purchase. Other than that, stick with the original Vampire$ (1998).<br/><br/>Stars *** out of *****

Vampire slayer Derek Bliss (<a href="/name/nm0000954/">Jon Bon Jovi</a>) is ordered to put together a team of hunters composed of (1) Zoey (<a href="/name/nm0906031/">Natasha Gregson Wagner</a>), a young woman he met in a diner who was bitten by a vampire but who has been able to keep the turning in remission by taking some anti-HIV pills she got in Mexico City, (2) Father Rodrigo (<a href="/name/nm0209246/">Cristián de la Fuente</a>), the only priest who escaped a vampire massacre at a monastery, (3) Sancho (<a href="/name/nm0526019/">Diego Luna</a>), a 15-year-old boy who accompanied Derek on a vampire hunt and found that he had a penchant for vampire-hunting, and (4) Ray Collins (<a href="/name/nm0566902/">Darius McCrary</a>), a tall, muscular, black, ex-military, "toughnails" guy. In a bus outfitted for killing vampires, the ragtag team sets out to destroy a colony of vampires in northern Mexico along with their powerful leader Una (<a href="/name/nm0431332/">Arly Jover</a>) before the "suckers" can obtain the Bersier cross, which will allow them to walk during the daytime. Vampires: Los Muertos is the sequel to <a href="/title/tt0120877/">Vampires (1998)</a> (1998), which was loosely based on Vampire$, a 1991 novel by American author John Steakley. The screenplay for Los Muertos was written by Tommy Lee Wallace, who also directed the film. Castwise, it's an entirely new group of actors. Father Guiteau (<a href="/name/nm0347375/">Tim Guinee</a>) is mentionedthe one who, before his death a month ago, built the vampire hunting bus. Only the black Cross of Bersier is back. It's explained that Fr Guiteau took the cross south into Mexico to hide it, and the vampires followed suit, hoping to find it. After saving Rodrigo from the fire, Derek returns to the nest, dropping his weapons and assuring Una that he only wants to talk. However, Una leaps on him, and Derek reacts by firing an arrow through her. Unfortunately, the winch is on the fritz, and they can't pull her out into the sun. So, they fix the winch and go back into the ruins. Sancho ropes Una, Una grabs Derek, Zoey pulls both Una and Derek out into the sun, Derek shoots off Una's head, and Una burns up. In the final scene, Rodrigo stays in Salina, Sancho is sent home to his mother, and Derek and Zoey drive off together into the sunset, headed for Mexico City,they are both in need of those meds. Rodrigo admits that he hid it but won't tell anyone where. The fact that it was so violent, he especially didn't like the opening scene.
